The Encompass Group is partnering with a growing commercial MEP organization to identify an experienced Buyer/Purchaser to support its high-volume warehouse operation. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented purchasing professional who enjoys managing inventory, developing strong vendor relationships, and ensuring critical materials are available when needed. The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities. What You'll Do Manage day-to-day purchasing activities for materials, parts, equipment, and inventory supporting warehouse operations. Monitor inventory levels and ensure materials are ordered and replenished in a timely manner. Maintain detailed purchasing and inventory tracking spreadsheets using advanced Microsoft Excel functions. Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, warehouse personnel, and management to ensure accurate and timely procurement and delivery. Create and manage purchase orders while maintaining accurate purchasing records in SAGE . Assist with physical inventory, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliation. Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers. Identify opportunities to improve purchasing and inventory processes. Support overall warehouse operations and assist with special projects as needed. Manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and purchasing needs within a high-volume environment. Required Qualifications 5+ years of purchasing experience in a high-volume warehouse, distribution, construction, or related environment. Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, tracking tools, and reporting. Experience using SAGE software. Strong understanding of inventory control, physical inventory, and cycle counting processes. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with vendors, warehouse teams, management, and other internal departments. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Purchasing experience within the MEP, construction, service, facilities maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or related industries . Experience with ServiceTrade is a plus; training is available for the right candidate. Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements and develop creative solutions to operational challenges.
