Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two (2) weeks of closing date. • Why does the job exist? This position serves as the subject matter expert for the District on all procurement matters. This position leads a team of purchasing agents who handle all procurement requirements for the District and supervision of stores/warehouse activity to ensure personnel are equipped with goods and services required for all District Programs. How does it get done? Oversees day-to-day execution of purchasing activities in accordance with the Procurement Code and ensure compliance with federal and state rules/regulations, policies, and Administrative Directives. Provides direction, oversight, and supervision of purchasing subordinates to include completion of timely and accurate employee evaluations. Creates, manages, and reviews Stores/Warehouse processes while collaborating with Accounting Section to ensure a smooth exchange of information. Collaboration with staff to meet quarterly strategic planning commitments for Financial Services. Who are the customers? NMDOT employees and management. Ideal Candidate NMDOT employees and management. Minimum Qualification Bachelor's degree in Business or Accounting and Finance and two (2) years of experience in accounting, finance, purchasing, procurement, and/or warehouse clerking. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Business/Personal Reference check and Driver's License verification are required, and employment is conditional pending results. Working Conditions Work is performed primarily in an office setting with occasionally working outdoors and with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Work extended hours and occasional travel may be required.
