Assistant Category Manager, Confectionery Reports to:Category Manager, Confectionery Location:
Hicksville, NY (on-site) Nassau Candy is a premier importer, manufacturer, and distributor of specialty confections, fine foods, and promotional products. We are currently hiring a detail-oriented Assistant Category Manager who will provide administrative and operational support to the Confectionery Category Managers and buying team. This position plays a critical role in the team's day-to-day purchasing activities by maintaining accurate item data, coordinating with internal departments, and assisting with vendor and reporting needs in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Essential Functions:
Set up new confectionery items and maintain existing product data in internal systems on a daily and seasonal basis. Partner with Marketing and Art departments to ensure product images, descriptions, pack sizes, and specifications are accurate for web and print materials. Generate reports and maintain Excel spreadsheets to support Category Managers with pricing, assortment, and performance tracking. Process and coordinate customer sample requests. Maintain professional relationships with vendors and brokers to support purchasing and product initiatives. Administer and process vendor chargebacks accurately and in a timely manner. ️ Perform additional administrative, data entry, and departmental support tasks as assigned.Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree preferred. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and overall computer skills required. Prior experience providing administrative support to a buying or sales team within a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities independently and collaboratively. ️ Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable communicating actionable information to management, internal stakeholders, and vendors. Resourceful, diligent, and adaptable in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.What We Offer:
