Job Description
Job Summary
Responsible for direct support of procurement of materials for all product lines. Supports operations with timely purchase of goods and services in a quality sensitive manner. Trains and motivates buyer staff to maximize performance, focusing on cost effective purchases using approved corporate processes. Qualifies suppliers as required by regulation & corporate directives. Provides business expertise to the Product Lines and serves as the focal point for commodity management, supplier development and performance. Also responsible for ensuring that appropriate stocking levels of materials are maintained.
Required Job Skills:
High School Diploma or GED
Working knowledge of contractual language
Understand and operate computer inventory and purchasing management systems.
Proven record of effective leadership of a purchasing and materials staff.
10 years in a purchasing, contracts and materials management environment.
5 years in a purchasing, contracts and materials management leadership role.
5 years in an aviation support position.
Working knowledge of Microsoft office software, specifically Word and Excel.
Working knowledge of purchasing software, office software and material order tracking and management systems.
Purchasing Policy & Procedures Manual.
Sarbanes Oxley financial regulations & reporting, FAA regulations, applicable Federal Acquisition.
regulations and law, Uniform Commercial Code, Small Business regulations, CASE certification of aviation suppliers.
Preferred Job Skills:
Undergraduate degree in business administration.
MBA or other graduate level degree.
Purchasing Manager, Logistics Manager or Certified Contract Manager certification.
SAP resource management systems knowledge, PMI purchasing and materials management software, and other financial systems.
