Exempt Under general supervision, manages the operations of the Purchasing Division. •T his position performs duties deemed to be "safety sensitive" and is therefore subjected to random drug testing under the City's policies• Assists with processing requisitions and purchase orders to procure material for the day-to-day operation of various City departments. Manages the processes of quotes and sealed bids. Prepares Oklahoma state contracts for all departments in the City. Spot-checks buyer's and warehouseman's work. Assists with requisitions for stock material. Oversees the day-to-day operations of the purchasing warehouse, including conducting monthly and year-end inventory. Manages and updates the City's fuel system and the City's point of sale fuel system. Locates vendors that supply material for various departments. Verifies new vendors' credibility to make sure they meet the City's needs. Reconciles discrepancies in invoices between accounts payable and vendors. Prepares and manages the surplus auctions. Distributes petty cash for purchases under fifty dollars; balances petty cash log. Signs, mails and distributes purchase orders. Trains, assigns, schedules, supervises, evaluates, and disciplines personnel. Prepares a monthly logistics report for purchase requisitions, stock requisitions, bids, quotes and petty cash purchases. Conducts weekly safety meetings. Performs other duties as assigned. Requires a Bachelor's Degree in a course of study related to the occupational field, supplemented by one to three years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid Driver's License issued by the State of Oklahoma for the type of vehicle or equipment operated. Ability to be bonded. Tasks involve the ability to exert moderate physical effort in medium work, typically involving some combination of balancing, feeling, handling, hearing, kneeling, mental acuity, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, talking, visual acuity, walking and which involves some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 5 0 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.Benefits
