We're seeking a Category Manager to join our growing procurement team. In this role, you'll play a key part in shaping sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost-saving initiatives that support both operational excellence and long-term business goals. You'll collaborate with stakeholders across the organization, analyze market trends, and lead sourcing activities that create measurable value. What You'll Do As a Category Manager, you'll be responsible for managing assigned spend categories and helping the organization achieve its sourcing and procurement objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
+ Develop and execute category strategies that align with business objectives and procurement goals. + Manage assigned spend categories, including sourcing activities, supplier evaluations, performance management, and ongoing category optimization. + Conduct market research, spend analysis, and competitive benchmarking to identify opportunities for cost savings, operational efficiencies, risk mitigation, and supplier value enhancement. + Lead sourcing initiatives such as Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), supplier selection processes, and contract negotiations. + Evaluate supplier proposals, pricing models, commercial terms, and service capabilities to support informed procurement decisions. + Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and ensure sourcing strategies effectively support operational needs. + Support contract negotiations and development by providing supplier intelligence, category expertise, and commercial recommendations. + Monitor supplier performance, identify improvement opportunities, and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to drive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives. + Maintain accurate procurement documentation, supplier records, contracts, and category plans within procurement and contract management systems. + Help enhance procurement processes, tools, templates, and best practices to improve consistency and efficiency across the organization. + Provide category-level spend forecasts, budgeting insights, and reporting to support financial planning activities. What You'll BringRequired Experience + 2-4 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, or supply chain-related functions. + Strong understanding of sourcing methodologies, supplier evaluation practices, and procurement principles. + Experience leading sourcing events, supplier negotiations, and commercial discussions. + Ability to analyze spend data, supplier proposals, market trends, and business requirements to develop strategic recommendations. + Familiarity with contract language, procurement policies, and supplier risk considerations. + Experience working with procurement, sourcing, or contract management systems. + Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial acumen. + Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills. + Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams. Education + Bachelor's degree in a related field required. + Equivalent combination of education and experience considered, including four additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
