Job Title:
Category Space Manager (100% Remote) Job Description We are seeking a Category Space Manager with a passion for the industry. This role involves working in a collaborative team environment to develop insights, identify opportunities, and communicate recommendations to drive future industry growth both internally and with retail customers. We are looking for an individual who takes ownership of their work and continuously strives to achieve more. Responsibilities Build strong relationships with retailers as a trusted Category advisor across all areas of the business. Develop impactful category analyses and consumer insights using a range of syndicated and non-syndicated data sources. Synthesize learnings from various sources to create clear and impactful selling stories in a visually appealing manner using PowerPoint. Effectively educate internal teammates and external customers on growth opportunities through clear and impactful communications. Partner with the Sales team to engage external retailer buying teams in defined territories with the goal of identifying opportunities to grow the category. Use space planning software to effectively merchandise the department according to category and retailer strategy. Essential Skills Strong passion for the industry. Bachelor's degree. Moderate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data manipulation and organization. Moderate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint for organizing and visualizing presentation storylines. Ability to understand information, develop insights, and identify opportunities when analyzing large data sets. Ability to translate findings and recommendations into a concise and effective selling story. Ability to confidently present insights, opportunities, and recommendations to stakeholders in a persuasive manner. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in category management or sales in the consumer packaged goods industry. Shelf management and planogram creation experience (JDA, Apollo, etc.). Strong familiarity with syndicated data, software, and measures (Circana, Nielsen, etc.). Strong familiarity with shopper panel information data, software, and measures (Circana, Nielsen, Numerator, Retailer Loyalty data, etc.). Experience with dashboarding software such as PowerBI, Qlik, or Spotfire. Positive attitude. Self-starter who takes ownership of work and drives results. Strong analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail. Team-oriented. Work Environment The role can be based in
West Virginia:
Parkersburg, Huntington, or Charleston, and is fully remote if in West Virginia. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charleston, WV. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
