Job Description

Procurement Manager - Capital Projects Why This Role? This is a high‑visibility procurement leadership role supporting large‑scale capital construction projects from strategy through contract close‑out . You'll own the full procurement lifecycle , influence project outcomes, and work closely with project managers, engineering teams, EPCm partners, and global suppliers. If you enjoy running complex bids, negotiating contracts, and seeing projects through from early strategy to final delivery, this role offers meaningful ownership and impact. Aston Carter is partnering with a leading organization in Tulsa, Oklahoma to bring on a Procurement Manager for a 1‑year contract‑to‑hire opportunity . You'll manage CapEx projects ranging from $1M to $50M across North and South America , with the chance to transition into a long‑term role. What You'll Be Doing As the Procurement Manager, you will lead procurement efforts across multiple construction and capital projects, ensuring alignment with safety, schedule, quality, and cost objectives. Own and execute end‑to‑end procurement strategies at key project stage gates Run competitive tenders : prepare bid packages, manage bids, evaluate proposals, and award contracts Lead negotiations and contract awards for long‑lead equipment, services, and full project scopes Partner closely with Project Managers, Category Managers, Engineering teams, EPCm firms, and suppliers Oversee contractor and vendor performance , manage claims, and proactively mitigate risk Monitor project cash flow, commitments, and procurement KPIs Maintain transparent documentation to support audits and governance requirements Manage procurement for multiple concurrent projects ranging from $1M-$50M Interface with global suppliers and internal buyers across regions Travel for supplier meetings and project needs as required Travel Expectations 25-40% travel , currently mostly local Potential for increased travel as new projects launch Occasional out‑of‑state trips ranging from 3 days to 1 week Ideal for candidates who enjoy onsite engagement and field collaboration What You Bring Required Experience 5+ years of construction or CapEx procurement experience , including full‑cycle contracting 3-5 years supporting multi‑million‑dollar capital projects Strong background in tendering, proposal evaluation, negotiations, and contract awards Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a matrixed organization Solid contract knowledge and confidence negotiating commercial terms Advanced spreadsheet and data‑analysis skills Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting construction projects and local market sourcing Familiarity with
SAP, ERP
systems, and vendor management tools Experience collaborating with engineering and project teams globally Flexibility with travel and changing project demands Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Catoosa, OK. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $75.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
