Morristown, Tennessee (opens in new tab) Posted 17 hours ago We are on the lookout for an accomplished and strategic individual to oversee the procurement of both raw and indirect materials. This pivotal position will ensure competitive sourcing, smooth supply continuity, and alignment with our company's goals. We aim for someone with robust expertise in the plastics sector, especially in handling resins, TiO2, carbon black, and chemical additives. You will operate in a dynamic, team-oriented setting, collaborating across various departments such as Procurement, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Quality, and Operations to enhance supplier performance, achieve cost savings, and boost supply chain efficacy.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Direct purchasing activities for our U.S. facilities.
  • Keep meticulous purchase records and vendor data, tracking specifications, pricing history, performance, and contracts.
  • Perform market analysis to discern trends, cost influences, and technological advancements in the supply domain.
  • Spearhead supplier selection, quotation management, comprehensive cost analysis, and contract negotiations.
  • Foster and uphold strong supplier partnerships through engagements, assessments, and performance reviews.
  • Craft commodity strategies aimed at optimizing purchasing influence, ensuring supply consistency, and enhancing cost-effectiveness.
  • Aid in material budget planning, cost projections, and key performance projects.
  • Guide supplier negotiations, drive cost-reduction sessions, and manage corrective processes.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to reduce supply risk and improve supplier performance.
Qualifications:
  • Profound industry knowledge in plastics and chemicals procurement.
  • Mastery in supplier relationship management and strategic sourcing.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the global supply chain dynamics.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational abilities.
  • Competence in interpreting blueprints and technical documents.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Power BI is highly advantageous.
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple projects independently.
  • Awareness of supply market trends, pertinent industry bodies, and contract law related to procurement.
Willingness to travel as required.
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, Chemistry, or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Over 5 years of procurement experience, with a strong preference for experience in the plastics or chemical sectors.
