It can be intimidating and overwhelming. Some who need care never seek it. Some quit before they get started. At Alaska Behavioral Health we are ready to change that. We want every person who needs and wants help to get the care they need. Our Peer Support Specialists are key team members who make that possible. Unlike traditional mental health providers, they do not sit behind desks or in offices and wait for client to be sent to them, they meet clients at our front doors, welcome them into care and get them access to the services they need. Unlike traditional receptionists, they are also certified health care providers, who also provide direct care and are a critical member of our integrated health care team, walking with the client throughout the treatment process. About the Team Our Peer Drop-in Center in Anchorage is located at 1231 Gambell Street, on the second floor. The lounge is open Monday - Friday, 8 am to 3 pm and is staffed by peer support specialists. The drop-in center offers showers, laundry, food, and regular skill development and therapy groups to help clients practice life skills, coping skills, and address substance use. Peer support specialists are available to help with case management needs, and clinicians are available for scheduled or crisis appointments. Psychiatry and primary care are available on-site by appointment. The center is open to current Alaska Behavioral Health clients, and those who are interested in engaging in services and becoming clients. What You'll Do Manage and staff the Peer Lounge Support the development of peer staff and the peer role within AKBH Provide outreach to support individuals with engaging in mental health, medical and other supports services that individuals may need Support and provide clinical intervention with AKBH clients Good To Know Position is based in Anchorage, Alaska Full-Time, Exempt Pay Range is between $56,000 and $58,100 annual Eligible to participate in company performance incentives with a target rate of 10%; incentive payments are determined by the achievement of organizational goals and individual goals. Student Loan Repayment and Tuition Assistance is Available - Professional Growth is encouraged! Clinical associates participate in regular individual and group supervision and are provided with additional training opportunities as part of our professional development plan. AKBH offers generous benefits including two healthcare options for employees and their dependent children; 401k with immediate vesting and up to 5% match, 3% automatically contributed by AKBH; 5 weeks of PTO for the first year and 8 weeks of PTO after the first year. What We Need from You Bachelor's degree in a human-services field such as social work, psychology, etc. Minimum of three years of relevant experience or relevant experience.
