Position Summary SafetyNet Behavioral Healthcare is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and confident Evening Behavioral Program Coordinator for our Villa Facility in Montgomery, Alabama. This is a hands-on leadership position that combines staff supervision, resident support, behavior management, Basic Living Skills instruction, and evening program oversight. The Coordinator will provide direction and support to Behavioral Aides while remaining actively involved in the daily care and supervision of residents. The successful candidate must be comfortable providing leadership, addressing staff performance concerns, working directly with residents, responding to behavioral crises, and helping maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment. Essential Responsibilities Provide leadership, supervision, and direction to Behavioral Aides assigned to the evening shift. Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for residents and staff. Monitor staff performance and provide coaching, guidance, and redirection as needed. Ensure staff follow Basic Living Skills (BLS) protocols, program guidelines, treatment goals, and SafetyNet policies and procedures. Maintain active supervision of residents and assist Behavioral Aides with resident care and monitoring. Build appropriate professional relationships with residents through consistency, structure, rapport, and an environment of care. Teach and reinforce Basic Living Skills, including personal hygiene, grooming, communication, manners, chores, and maintaining clean living areas. Model appropriate behavior and redirect inappropriate behavior using approved behavior-management techniques. Recognize signs of behavioral or emotional crisis and assist with de-escalation and crisis intervention. Participate in approved physical holds or restraints when necessary and in accordance with SafetyNet policies and training. Ensure required resident observations, reports, documentation, and shift records are completed accurately and on time. Communicate effectively with Behavioral Aides, supervisors, nursing, clinical staff, and other members of the treatment team. Conduct or assist with Basic Living Skills groups and scheduled resident activities. Ensure appropriate communication and transfer of information at shift change. Assist with resident personal-care needs, recreational activities, outings, and other program needs when necessary. Promote cleanliness, safety, and appropriate behavior throughout resident bedrooms, bathrooms, common areas, and program areas. Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professional and ethical conduct at all times. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. These responsibilities incorporate the direct-care functions of the Behavioral Aide position with the supervisory, program-management, documentation, and BLS oversight responsibilities of the coordinator position Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree required Ability to effectively supervise, coach, and provide direction to employees. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain professionalism and sound judgment during challenging or crisis situations. Ability to work effectively with children and adolescents with behavioral, emotional, and/or psychiatric needs. Ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team. Preferred Qualifications A bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services, Sociology, Criminal Justice, or a related field is preferred. Previous experience in residential treatment, behavioral health, mental health, social services, foster care, or working with children and adolescents is strongly preferred. Supervisory or leadership experience and knowledge of behavior management, crisis intervention, child/adolescent development, and Basic Living Skills instruction are also preferred.
