Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION
Plans, implements, supervises and evaluates activities provided in within a specific program area, such as Education, Social Recreation, Arts & Crafts, and Physical Education. Build relationships, act as mentors, and model good decision making and social skills. Ensure inclusion and safety for all members.KEY ROLES
(Essential Job Responsibilities): Prepare Youth for Success Create an environment that facilitates the achievement ofYouth Development Outcomes:
Promote and stimulate program participation. Register new members and participate in their club orientation process. Participate as an active positive team member with supervisor, staff, volunteers, and members. Actively engaged with students in core area programs. Program Development and Implementation Effectively plan and implement and administer programs, services and activities for drop-in members and visitors. Monitor and evaluate programs, services and activities to ensure safety of members, quality in programs and appearance of the club at all times. Prepare periodic activity reports. Prevention- Smart Moves, Passport to Manhood, and Smart Girls. Physical Education
- Triple Play, Healthy Habits, and two health classes per week (15-20 minutes). Arts
- drama, music, and fine arts. Education
- Homework and Career Development. Social Rec.
- Character Education & Development, Games, Sportsmanship, Fair Play, Honesty, and character education two days per week (15-20 minutes with provided curriculum).
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
16. May participate in special programs and/or events. 17. May be required to drive Club van. 18. Maintain daily attendance for 21st Century. 19. Participates in continuing education. (Webinars, Workshops, Conferences) 20. Assume other duties as assigned.RELATIONSHIPS
Internal:
Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/ instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.External:
Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, members' parents and others to assist in resolving problems.SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Experience in working with children. Knowledge of youth development. Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems. Ability to deal with the general public. Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth. Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment. CPR and First Aid Certifications.
