Full-time Position Summary:
Provides education including participating in the development and implementation of related classes, demonstrations, and community and family based activities and ensures that all program activities are carried out in accordance with grant guidelines, project protocols, standards of care, and policies and procedures of GRHC.Critical Tasks:
Develop curriculum, conduct sessions according to the agreed curriculum, project protocols and local cultural values. Varies teaching strategies, approaches and methods that incorporate adult learning theories and concepts and local cultural values. Administers program evaluations, monitors data for areas needing improvement and implements performance improvement activities. Procure, organize, evaluate, update and develop patient education materials for use by health care professionals, patients and family members, and community based groups. Assist the project coordinator in developing measurable work plan of intervention project activities. Assist in preparing progress and data reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Support and participate in the conceptualization, design and development of project protocols, procedures, educational and data collection activities. Works closely and cooperatively with peers to review and/or revise standards, policy and procedure manuals based on findings and/or recommendations. Participates in departmental orientation, on the job training and quality assurance programs/initiatives. Participates in a variety of department and hospital educational programs to maintain current skill and competency levels; identifies and discusses performance or training needs with Supervisor.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Health Promotion, Public Health, Education, Nutrition/Dietetics or closely related field; equivalent combination of education and experience.
