Teen Program Aides are responsible for the development of youth, relationships, and fun at the Boys & Girls with middle school and high school students. Under the supervision of the Teen Programs Director and through activities and informal contact, forge deep and critical relationships with members in their unit, create and facilitate enrichment programs, and lead small groups of youth aged 6-18. .GENERAL PURPOSE
The purpose of the Program Aide position will be to provide enrichment activities and opportunities to middle school and high school students.QUALIFICATIONS
- High school Diploma and/or a minimum of 1 year experience in youth development or related field.
- Competent written and oral communication skills.
- Competent word processing, spreadsheet, publishing, member management, and other digital resource skills.
- Must be able to patrol Club and grounds on foot, physically be able to separate children involved in a physical altercation, visually observe program areas, physically demonstrate the Club's various recreational activities, and assist students with school/homework assignments.
- Possess current certificates in and be able to perform CPR and medical First Aid.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Administration- Assist with the Club's Membership registration and fee collection process for all programs.
- Support unit/activity/program attendance.
- Demonstrate an awareness of the Program Calendar and support units with respect to its goals and implementation.
- Communicate Club policies and procedures to all staff and assure their adherence.
- Other duties as assigned Staff Development
- Have a rudimentary knowledge of program development and implementation.
- Attend and actively participate in all appropriate staff meetings and trainings.
- Other duties as assigned Outcome Measurement
- Support regular tracking of program attendance in the Member Tracking System
- Assist in Boys & Girls Clubs of America Annual Report as needed.
- Other duties as assigned Program
- Set up and orchestrate activities within the unit.
- Advanced knowledge of rules and game variations for all club games and equipment.
- Help to create a safe environment during Club activities as needed.
- Attend any community, school or Club administrative meetings as directed.
- Assist in the cleaning/maintenance of the facility.
