Full Job Description Overview:
The Deputy Program Manager provides on-site leadership for F-35 Joint Program Office information technology contract activities performed at Edwards Air Force Base and supports integrated execution across West Coast operations. This position manages day-to-day Program Management Office activities within the assigned region, coordinates local staffing and service delivery, and serves as the Program Manager's principal deputy for site-level customer engagement, performance oversight, and issue resolution. The role works through subordinate managers and technical professionals, translates program direction into executable priorities, monitors deliverables and operational results, and coordinates escalated matters with Arlington-based leadership and other departments. Through visible on-site leadership and disciplined communication, the Deputy promotes continuity, accountability, and consistent performance across geographically distributed teams.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the Program Manager's on-site deputy for West Coast operations and provide day-to-day leadership for contractor activities at Edwards Air Force Base. Manage through subordinate managers, team leads, and technical professionals to align local staffing, priorities, schedules, service delivery, and performance with program requirements. Act as the principal local contractor interface with Government site leadership and coordinate site-level technical, operational, personnel, and program-management matters. Implement Program Management Office processes and policies and provide guidance to local project-management and technical staff. Monitor milestones, deliverables, staffing, service performance, risks, issues, dependencies, and customer concerns and provide accurate status to the Program Manager. Resolve escalated operational issues requiring coordination with Arlington leadership, other supported locations, functional teams, corporate resources, or subcontractors. Support strategic decisions affecting the assigned area of responsibility and provide input to resource planning, workforce allocation, budgets, continuity, and operational improvement. Ensure local activities, records, communications, and corrective actions are identified, documented, tracked, and completed in accordance with program-management standards. Coordinate coverage for planned and unplanned absences and support unusual after-hours, weekend, or holiday requirements when requested and authorized.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, program management, information technology, engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum of three years of managerial experience overseeing managers, technical professionals, projects, operations, or comparable groups of moderate complexity. Experience managing day-to-day Program Management Office activities and ensuring that projects and operational services meet organizational goals, requirements, milestones, and performance expectations. Demonstrated ability to manage through subordinate leaders, resolve escalated operational issues, and coordinate effectively across departments and geographically separated teams. Experience supporting strategic decisions, resource planning, staffing, budgets, performance reporting, risk management, corrective actions, and customer engagement. Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to represent program management at an on-site Government location and maintain close coordination with the Program Manager. Ability to work on site at Edwards Air Force Base, California, and support schedule adjustments or authorized after-hours requirements when necessary.

is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $132,500.00/Yr. - USD $221,300.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
