25-30 hours per week SUMMARY We are currently hiring for the 2026-2027 school year. Training will begin in June, with regular program hours starting in August 2026. Active Learning is seeking experienced and motivated After School Program Leads to oversee and support after-school programs serving students in grades TK-6 within the Fullerton School District. Our staff are known for creating engaging, safe, and enriching environments for students. This role is ideal for a strong, hands-on leader who is passionate about youth development, team leadership, and program excellence. Program Leads are responsible for supervising staff, ensuring compliance, maintaining high program quality, and fostering a positive and collaborative environment for both students and team members.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Supervise, coach, and support After School Teachers to ensure full compliance with Fullerton School District requirements and Active Learning standards Serve as the on-site program leader, responsible for overall program quality, safety, and daily operations Collaborate closely with school site staff (principals, office staff, and administrators) to align with school policies and expectations Oversee daily program implementation for students in Transitional Kindergarten through 6th grade Ensure staff consistently meet expectations in behavior management, engagement, and instructional quality Lead and facilitate weekly on-site leadership meetings and communicate weekly goals, expectations, and action items to staff Monitor staff performance and provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and accountability Maintain a structured, organized, and engaging program environment that prioritizes student safety and enrichment Implement effective behavior management strategies and support staff in classroom management Communicate regularly with the Program Manager regarding staffing, program needs, materials, and overall site performance Ensure all materials, supplies, and equipment are prepared and organized for daily program success Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative team culture Model professionalism by being adaptable, solution-oriented, dependable, and approachable
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field preferred Minimum of 3-4 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a school, after-school, or youth program setting Proven experience leading, coaching, and developing teams Strong track record of holding staff accountable and driving program quality Deep understanding of child development and behavior management strategies Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask Ability to remain calm, flexible, and solution-oriented in fast-paced or unexpected situations Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with school staff and leadership Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and accountability
Required :
Must pass a background check TB test clearance (renewed every 4 years)
