Company Description Commute.org is San Mateo County's Transportation Demand Management (TDM) agency, dedicated to reducing single-occupancy vehicle trips to improve air quality and address traffic congestion. Funded by regional agencies and local governments, Commute.org partners with employers, cities, and organizations to provide innovative solutions for commuting challenges. By offering commuter information, employer programs, and TDM partnerships, we help residents find faster, cheaper, and more convenient ways to travel. Recently accredited by the Association for Commuter Transportation, Commute.org is recognized for its excellence in expanding TDM programs and its commitment to sustainable transportation. Role Description This is an on-site, part-time, paid-internship role based in South San Francisco, CA, supporting the Shuttle Program at Commute.org. The Shuttle Program team currently manages 16 routes throughout San Mateo County. Most routes operate during commute hours and provide first/last mile connections to regional transit. The Shuttle Program Support Intern will assist with administrative tasks, analyze program data, and provide customer service support to shuttle riders and program partners. The role will involve coordinating with program managers, preparing reports, and communicating with stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient operations. The role will also provide support to the agency's other program areas as needed. The internship is intended to start on or around June 1, 2026 and last until August 28, 2026 but may be extended. The intern's hours will be Monday-Friday from 2:00-6:00 PM but may vary depending on Shuttle Program needs. Qualifications Customer service skills to address inquiries and provide support to shuttle users Strong attention to detail Proficiency in analytical skills to assess and interpret program data effectively Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members, stakeholders, and shuttle users Ability to work collaboratively in an on-site team environment Familiarity with transportation demand management or related disciplines is a plus Experience with WordPress or other website editing tools is a plus Experience with Excel is a plus Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Public Administration, Transportation Planning, Sustainability, or a related field
