POSITION SUMMARY
The Engagement & Partnership Specialist is responsible for supporting participant engagement, mentor relationship management, partnership coordination, and Workplace Mentoring program implementation. This position serves as a primary point of contact for mentors, mentees, school partners, and corporate volunteers, ensuring a positive and engaging mentoring experience. The Specialist facilitates mentoring sessions, supports mentor recruitment and retention efforts, coordinates program activities, conducts participant check-ins, and assists with partnership engagement activities. This role focuses on delivering high-quality program experiences while supporting participant satisfaction, retention, and program outcomes. This position follows established program procedures and works under the guidance of Workplace Mentoring leadership. The role does not maintain ownership of program processes, curriculum development, partnership strategy, or leadership-level facilitation responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Participant & Mentor Engagement Conduct regular participant and mentor check-ins to support relationship development and program satisfaction. Manage ongoing communication with mentors, mentees, families, educators, and workplace partners. Identify participant concerns and escalate issues appropriately. Support mentor and mentee retention efforts through consistent engagement and relationship-building. Workplace Mentoring Facilitation Facilitate Workplace Mentoring sessions utilizing established curriculum and program guidelines. Support participant engagement during mentoring activities and events. Ensure a positive, inclusive, and safe experience for all participants. Assist with session preparation, materials, attendance tracking, and follow-up communications. Partnership Support Maintain regular communication with assigned corporate and educational partners. Assist with scheduling, coordination, and implementation of workplace mentoring activities. Support partner volunteer engagement and participation efforts. Represent the organization professionally during meetings, events, and program activities. Recruitment & Retention Support Support mentor recruitment initiatives through outreach activities and events. Assist prospective mentors through onboarding and participation processes. Promote volunteer engagement and continued participation. Program Administration Maintain accurate participant records and case notes. Track participation, attendance, and engagement metrics. Support data collection and reporting requirements. Assist with program logistics, scheduling, and event coordination. Quality & Compliance Follow organizational policies, program standards, and child safety requirements. Maintain confidentiality and accurate documentation. Support program quality and participant satisfaction goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Education, Social Work, Psychology, Communications, Business, or related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Experience 1-3 years of experience in youth development, mentoring, volunteer engagement, education, nonprofit programs, customer relations, or related fields. Experience facilitating groups or workshops preferred. Experience working with diverse populations preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to facilitate group discussions and presentations. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM/database systems.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, as well as occasional standing and walking.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds (such as program materials, supplies, or office equipment).
  • Ability to travel to various sites, events, and meetings as required by the role.
  • May occasionally work in outdoor environments and be exposed to varying weather conditions.
