Ukiah, CA Position Overview:
DBC is seeking an Energy Program Specialist I to join the Lake County Northern Rural Energy Network (NREN) team. NREN is a new program that provides energy-saving opportunities in rural Northern California. NREN Lake's goals and program design are to provide and administer energy efficiency programs and services to the residential, commercial, (including public and nonprofit agency) sectors in Lake County, while also strengthening and growing the local workforce, promoting local energy codes and standards adoption and providing low interest financing for energy efficiency projects.About Us:
Davey-Bates Consulting (DBC) is a small private consulting firm that offers turn-key professional staffing services to the Lake and Mendocino County regional planning agencies --- the Lake Area Planning Council (LAPC) and the Mendocino Council of Governments (MCOG). This is a full-time, in-office position, located in Ukiah. However, some travel will be required in Lake County on a regular basis and quarterly in-state travel for in-person partner meetings (mileage reimbursement provided). Under the general direction of the Energy Program Manager and Director, this position will assist in the development, implementation and delivery of NREN energy efficiency programs in Lake County focused on the residential, commercial, workforce, finance and public agency sectors.Knowledge of:
- Energy efficiency and energy-related technologies and practices
- Effective communication, strong technical writing and reporting skills
- Business software applications, including MS Office, Adobe, web browsers and tools for calendaring and project management
Duties:
Duties are illustrative only and may vary. Other duties may be assigned.- Assist in collaborative program development and design processes, including needs assessments, energy assessments, project design and proposals
- Assist with preparing outreach and marketing collateral and tools, and determining evaluation and reporting metrics
- Engage with customers, project partners, contractors, and vendors to promote NREN services and programs and convey eligibility opportunities
- Be proficient in NREN's general customer intake process and support program outreach activities
- Assist with developing, improving, and updating processes and procedural documents of existing and future rebate programs
- Participate in program design reviews to refine and develop new program offerings
- Assist with data entry, processing rebate forms and other documentation for NREN programs
- Identify and sign up residential and commercial customers for NREN services, rebates and energy efficiency upgrades and retrofits
- Assist Program Manager and Energy Specialist staff with larger or more complex tasks through discussion, research, preliminary design work, writing, and critical thinking
- Be proficient in data entry using various databases, portals, and workbooks for rebate programs
- Contribute to interim/final reports and other program documentation
- Coordinate with third party providers to obtain product and service information
- Assist with coordinating and staffing public outreach events, workshops, and meetings
- Participate in routine evaluation and improvement of existing policies and procedures
