EMPLOYEE CLASSIFICATION
Part-Time Duties and Responsibilities The J-Z AMP Program Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of the program's operations. Duties will include, but are not limited to: Managing the day-to-day operations of program, Monday through Friday from 3:30 PM to 6 PM Meeting bi-weekly with Senior Mentor Coordinator and Manager of Community Partnerships to coordinate program planning and serving as primary liaison to the University Monitoring daily bus arrival/departure after school, ensuring student attendance, boarding, and communication with drivers regarding new enrollees. Collaborating with Wakeman staff / Senior Mentor Coordinator to manage daily schedule Managing daily paperwork (i.e., attendance sheets, behavior logs). Providing weekly attendance reports to Senior Mentor Coordinator. Communicating with parents about behavior issues, absences, and other related concerns. Assisting in preparation of tutoring materials (e.g., photocopies, organizing binders, etc.). Coordinating communication between Cesar Batalla teachers/staff and Wakeman BGC. Distributing flyers and following up with teachers/students to ensure enrollment during recruitment cycles. Supporting retention and engagement by monitoring attendance, reaching out to students with inconsistent participation, and implementing strategies to re-engage those struggling with program involvement. Assisting with recruitment, training, and supervision of J-Z AMP mentors. Assisting with coordination of transportation for J-Z AMP mentors (as needed). Assisting with monitoring, evaluation, and collection of data for the annual grant report (i.e., Wakeman staff and mentor surveys). Assisting in coordinating logistics for field trips and/or other periodic events (1-2 per year). Compensation Hourly rate : $23.00-25.00/hr.
Schedule :
Up to 12.5 hours per week during weeks when Bridgeport Public Schools are in session
Program Hours :
Monday-Friday, 3:30-6:00 PM at the Wakeman BoysGirls Club -
1-2 hours of weekly office time for meetings, trainings, and check-ins with supervisor. The J-Z AMP Program Supervisor is expected to be consistently present during program hours, provide active oversight of daily operations, and fulfill administrative responsibilities related to program coordination and reporting. Preferred Qualifications 1-2 years of experience managing, developing, or delivering youth educational programming (e.g., teaching, counseling, mentoring) and/or experience working with university students Bachelor's degree in related field (e.g., education, social work) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficiency in Spanish is a strong plus Strong leadership skills Highly collaborative; affinity for working with people and on teams Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Ability to work with diverse populations/cultures Ability to take initiative, think creatively, and seek the information needed to address challenges
