Job Description

Overview The New Heights program of Catholic Charities, located in Danbury, CT is seeking three part-time Recovery Advisors . This exciting opportunity is at our recovery-based, consumer-driven, wellness and recovery center. The program offers support groups, skills-building classes, and social rehabilitation activities to adults with mental health conditions. We embrace the idea that community integration improves the quality of life and reduces stigma. We are hiring three advisors with varying schedules: one position at 25 hours per week, one at 17 hours per week, and one per diem (as-needed) position. We offer flexible weekday hours and require availability on Saturdays.
Experience and Abilities:
Must be able to facilitate groups and be confident running social rehabilitation activities. Must be comfortable and confident in a social setting and be able to easily engage with new people. Must be able to interact with diverse populations. Must be capable of completing necessary program documentation and be able to actively engage clients in program activities. Knowledge and experience working with Mental Health Recovery programs preferred. Recovery Support Specialist certification welcomed. Experience with Office 365 programs such as Word, Excel, and Publisher preferred. Must have a clean driving record and be able to utilize a mid-sized SUV to transport members to destinations throughout Fairfield County. Must have the ability to bend, use stairs, and lift up to 30 lbs. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) a plus. Join us to empower individuals on their journey toward recovery!
