Program Coordinator Are you inspired by the prospect of transforming outdoor education into a rewarding career? Outdoor Classroom is in search of a dedicated Program Coordinator for our residential outdoor education program. This key role will oversee day-to-day operations, including program planning, staff supervision, and liaison with partnered schools. Who we are We're the largest outdoor and environmental education program in the northeastern US. We specialize in experiential learning, focusing on science, nature, and social-emotional skills. We provide engaging and transformative programming for elementary and middle school students who join us for overnight field trips. Each spring and fall, we welcome hundreds of schools to our seven spectacular sites. Responsibilities Oversee daily operations and programming at one of Outdoor Classroom's sites. Lead, mentor, and support a dedicated team of 5 to 12 instructors. Work closely with an on-site medical professional to ensure the safety and health of all students. Cultivate and maintain a positive relationship with the host site. Attend Program Coordinator trainings. Help organize and attend instructor training week(s) at the start of each season. Foster a positive, professional, and collaborative work culture. Build and maintain strong relationships with participating schools. Ensure consistent and effective communication with each school. Manage all administrative duties such as creating schedules, writing group reports, and managing the site budget. Required to live on-site during the program season. Salary & benefits The starting salary for this seasonal role is $950 per week. We provide shared accommodations for the season. Meals are provided by the dining hall when schools are on-site. Food on weekends is supplemented through a stipend for the whole staff team. As housing is shared, please note that pets and emotional support animals are not allowed. We also offer mileage reimbursement for work-related travel. Dates This is a seasonal position. During the program season, Program Coordinators work 5 days per week and live on-site in provided shared housing. The fall season starts in mid-August. End dates vary by site, but are usually between the end of October and mid-November. Program Coordinators may be offered 1 or 2 days of work per week during the winter. There is the opportunity to return for the spring season as well. Qualifications The ideal candidate should have a minimum of one year of management experience, five years of youth work experience, and three years in an outdoor setting (summer camp or outdoor education preferred). We highly value candidates who exhibit a great attitude and enjoy teamwork. The ability to navigate uneven terrain quickly to respond to emergencies is also required. While a Bachelor's degree is preferred, it is not required. Our available locations
