Full Job Description Responsibilities:
Planning, scheduling, and coordinating meaningful activities appropriate to the needs and interests of clients and conducive to their physical, mental and social well-being. Must live within 20 miles of downtown. Travel to clients is required. Flexible schedule! Assess clients to create an appropriate activity plan . Plan, organize, and coordinate a variety of activities. Develop and implement recreational therapy activities to enhance the physical, emotional, and social well-being of the clients. Provide specialized care for clients with dementia or memory care needs. Coordinate and communicate with staff, and families to ensure activities meet the needs and preferences of the client. Manage schedules and ensure timely execution of activities. Keep records of all activity plans and evaluate progress.
Qualifications:
2 years experience working in a setting planning activities for older adults and individuals with disabilities. Must be able to pass a Level II Background check. Ability to work 20+ hours a week with a flexible schedule. Possess a current and valid driver's license, reliable vehicle and car insurance. Knowledge of recreational therapy techniques and practices. Familiarity with dementia care. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and staff. Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with elderly individuals. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to manage schedules and coordinate activities. Reliable and responsible. Commitment to the company's mission and values. Must have computer and printer. Reliable transportation a must.
