About STEAMUP Academy STEAMUP Academy ignites curiosity and nurtures a lifelong love of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) in young minds through hands-on, experiential learning. This special program is hosted at the iconic Kennedy Space Center, giving students and facilitators alike a truly unique setting for hands-on STEM education. About the Role We are seeking enthusiastic, motivated Robotics Program Facilitators to support a hands-on educational program for students ages 9-17. Over three-day sessions, facilitators will work directly with students as they build and program robots — gaining real teaching and technical experience while helping inspire the next generation of engineers and space enthusiasts. What You Will Do Assist students in assembling and programming robots Guide students through basic robotics concepts, including mechanics, electronics, and coding Foster a collaborative, engaging learning environment Troubleshoot technical issues with robot builds Follow and reinforce safety protocols during all activities Support the lead instructor in delivering the curriculum What You Will Need Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a STEM-related program (Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or similar) Knowledge of robotics, electronics, and programming (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Python, or similar) Ability to teach and guide students through hands-on projects from start to finish Strong communication and interpersonal skills Patience and enthusiasm for teaching students of varying skill levels Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Must be 18 or older and able to pass a background check Reliable transportation to Kennedy Space Center Bonus Points Previous teaching, tutoring, or mentoring experience Experience with 3D printing, laser cutting, or other fabrication tools Interest in aerospace or space exploration
