The Small Business & Entrepreneurship Program Manager leads a nonprofit entrepreneurship program focused on helping aspiring and existing entrepreneurs start, strengthen, finance, and grow their businesses. About the Position Enterprising Tampa Bay is seeking an experienced, bilingual Small Business & Entrepreneurship Program Manager to lead our Small Business & Entrepreneurship Accelerator (SBEA). SBEA provides entrepreneurs with business education, individualized coaching and technical assistance, networking, resources, and connections to capital. The SBEA Manager is responsible for the overall quality, performance, and outcomes of the program. The Manager supervises program staff, monitors entrepreneur progress, develops partnerships, oversees program data and reporting, and ensures services are delivered effectively. Although coaching, training, and workshops are primarily provided by the Business Coach & Trainer, the SBEA Manager must be comfortable and qualified to step in and provide coaching, training, technical assistance, or workshops whenever needed. Key Responsibilities Program & Staff Leadership Lead the implementation, quality, and performance of the SBEA program. Supervise and provide direction to the Business Coach & Trainer and Network Coordinator. Establish expectations, priorities, deadlines, and performance standards for program staff. Monitor program activities, participant progress, service quality, and achievement of established goals. Identify performance or service gaps and take appropriate action to keep the program and team on track. Ensure consistent program delivery at the Wimauma Opportunity Center and other training locations. Entrepreneur & Small-Business Support Work with program staff to assess the needs and progress of aspiring and existing entrepreneurs. Review participant goals and action plans and help determine appropriate next steps, services, resources, or interventions. Provide direct business coaching, technical assistance, training, and workshops as needed. Support entrepreneurs in areas such as business planning, startup strategy, budgeting, pricing, marketing, financial management, operations, and access to capital. Collaborate with the Loan Manager to identify and prepare entrepreneurs who may be ready for financing or other capital resources. Partnerships, Outreach & Regional Growth Build and maintain relationships with chambers of commerce, financial institutions, business organizations, economic-development partners, funders, and community organizations. Collaborate with the Engagement & Outreach Manager to support SBEA participation and regional expansion. Represent Enterprising Tampa Bay at meetings, community events, networking activities, workshops, and partner functions. Help create partnerships and opportunities that strengthen the entrepreneurial network and connect businesses with resources and capital. Data, Outcomes & Reporting Monitor enrollment, participation, training, coaching, business development, business launches, capital access, and other key program outcomes. Ensure accurate and timely participant records and program data. Track progress toward organizational, contractual, and grant-funded goals. Prepare and contribute to program reports, outcomes, and impact narratives. Use program data to identify challenges, improve services, and support management decisions. Minimum Qualifications Professional fluency in English and Spanish is required. Professional experience working directly with entrepreneurs, small businesses, entrepreneurship programs, economic development, or small-business development is required. Minimum of three years of program management experience, including responsibility for program implementation, outcomes, deliverables, staff coordination, or supervision. Demonstrated experience supervising or managing staff. Working knowledge of small-business fundamentals, including business planning, budgeting, pricing, marketing, financial management, operations, and access to capital. Experience providing or supporting business coaching, technical assistance, workshops, training, or adult education. Strong organizational, project-management, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to develop professional relationships with entrepreneurs, partners, financial institutions, and community organizations. Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, staff responsibilities, and program deliverables. Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time within the Tampa Bay region. Reliable transportation for regional travel. Education & Experience A bachelor's degree in business, entrepreneurship, economic development, nonprofit management, public administration, finance, or a related field is preferred. Substantial relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree. Candidates with experience in nonprofit economic development, Small Business Development Centers, entrepreneurship programs, community development organizations, CDFIs, business incubators or accelerators, chambers of commerce, financial institutions, or similar environments are encouraged to apply. Technology Skills Candidates should be comfortable using standard workplace and program-management technology, including: Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace; Spreadsheets and data-tracking tools; CRM, client-management, or case-management systems; and Virtual meeting and presentation platforms. The ability to learn new organizational systems quickly is important. Work Location & Schedule The primary work location is the Wimauma Opportunity Center in Wimauma, Florida. This is a full-time position, generally Monday through Friday. The SBEA Manager should be comfortable with a flexible schedule that aligns with program and organizational needs. Occasional evening or weekend participation may be necessary for workshops, graduations, networking events, community activities, or other functions. The position may require up to 25% travel to other training locations, partner organizations, community meetings, outreach activities, conferences, and events throughout the Tampa Bay region. Compensation & Benefits The salary range for this position is $65,000-$70,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience. Enterprising Tampa Bay offers eligible full-time employees: Health, Dental, and Vision insurance options; 10 observed paid holidays; 3 weeks of paid vacation/PTO, including one week during the organization's Christmas/New Year holiday closure; and Flexible scheduling based on program and organizational needs. You may be a good fit if you can sit with an entrepreneur and help diagnose why a business is struggling, walk into a classroom and facilitate a business workshop when a trainer is unavailable, review program data and recognize that outcomes are falling behind, coach a staff member whose follow-through needs improvement, meet with a bank or community partner to develop a new opportunity, and then communicate clearly with organizational leadership about what is working, what is not, and what needs to happen next.
