Job Description
Job Description This Senior Center Specialist will be providing assistance and support to senior residents and supporting the Senior Center Program Supervisor with daily operations. The incumbent will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks, including conducting assessments, updating files, submitting transportation information for clients, developing, scheduling, and organizing activities at the center, and preparing reports on activities, nutrition, and health-related programs. Essential Duties Instructing clients on the fundamentals of the assigned community service program Assisting and addressing residents with questions and concerns and providing resources and/or referrals regarding senior programs Assisting in maintaining facility cleanliness and operations Assisting with assessments, updating files, and routing information for clients Maintaining records and other documentation regarding daily program activities and operations, such as attendance records and deposits Assisting with driving a 14-passenger van for senior care activities Organizing transportation for daily activities and special trips Educating the public on available resources, providing information about classes and programs, and encouraging community participation Performing other duties of a similar nature or level Public Speaking Duties Speaking at community meetings to raise awareness about program services Other Job Requirements/Information This job requires fingerprinting. Grade The grade for this position is A131. Salary will be dependent on education and experience. Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED One year of related experience, OR An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job, such as those listed above, will also be considered.
