You will help create a safe, affirming, organized, and high-energy environment where participants build confidence, strengthen leadership skills, explore college and career pathways, practice collaboration, and grow as purpose-driven change agents.

What You'll Do Facilitate small- and large-group LOV Club sessions using approved lesson plans, curriculum, activities, and project-based experiences. Deliver culturally relevant instruction in character building, career readiness, civic engagement, project management, collaboration, communication, and leadership development. Create a fun, interactive, inclusive, and affirming learning environment that supports participation, reflection, confidence, critical thinking, self-advocacy, and peer connection. Coach and guide participants as they complete projects, leadership activities, presentations, and other program commitments. Build consistent, trust-centered mentoring relationships while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. Support participant recruitment, enrollment, attendance, retention, engagement, and a strong sense of belonging at assigned LOV Club sites. Communicate professionally and respectfully with participants, families, school staff, community partners, mentors, facilitators, and LOV team members. Prepare lessons and materials in advance, adapt delivery within approved guidelines, and provide feedback that supports continuous improvement. Complete attendance, mentoring notes, participant progress documentation, surveys, incident reports, and other assigned records accurately and on time. Support program logistics, site set-up and clean-up, participant check-in and dismissal, special programs, recruitment efforts, and occasional organization-wide or community events. What You'll Bring Bachelor's degree required; a degree in Education, Youth Development, Social Work, Psychology, Human Development, Human Services, or a related field is preferred. Experience working directly with youth ages 9 to 18 in group settings such as mentoring, youth development, after-school programming, classroom instruction, community programs, or similar environments. Experience facilitating structured lessons, workshops, activities, projects, or youth programs. Demonstrated ability to build supportive mentoring relationships and maintain clear professional boundaries with youth. Passion for mentoring girls and supporting youth in historically underserved communities, along with a strong commitment to LOV's mission, values, and culturally responsive youth development. Strong group-management, conflict-resolution, judgment, problem-solving, communication, preparation, time-management, organization, documentation, reliability, and follow-through skills. Comfort using Microsoft Office, virtual meeting platforms, email, shared documents, and basic program data systems. Reliable and consistent transportation and the ability to travel to assigned sites throughout Chicagoland. Flexibility to work the assigned schedule and occasional evenings, weekends, summer programs, or special events as needed.
