Job Description

Job Summary:
The Fatherhood Program Facilitator is responsible for assisting the coordinator with leading and facilitating the programs to support and empower fathers. This role involves conducting workshops, and providing guidance to fathers on parenting, communication, and personal development. The Facilitator plays a key role in fostering a positive and supportive environment for fathers to enhance their parenting skills.
Program Delivery:
  • Maintain program vitality and delivery to program participants ensuring that the needs and challenges faced by fathers are integrated.
  • Deliver and implement engaging and interactive activities that promote positive father-child relationships.
Facilitation:
  • Create and facilitate workshops, support groups, and classes for fathers, covering a variety of topics in a safe and supportive environment.
  • Facilitate meaningful discussions that encourage active participation and mutual support among fathers.
  • Facilitate both father-led and subject matter expert led activities and events.
Individual Support/Coaching:
  • Provide one-on-one coaching and guidance to fathers, addressing their specific concerns and challenges.
  • Offer support and options in areas such as co-parenting, stress management, and personal growth.
Education and Skill-Building:
  • Provide education on life skill topics to include general life management, child development, positive discipline, and effective communication techniques.
  • Facilitate skill-building activities that enhance fathers' parenting capabilities and personal growth in finances, job readiness and other self-growth areas.
Resource Referral:
  • Connect fathers with community resources, support services, and programs that contribute to their well-being.
  • Assist in addressing barriers to active and involved fatherhood.
Community Engagement:
  • Collaborate with community organizations and stakeholders to enhance program offerings and resources.
  • Represent the fatherhood program in community events and outreach activities.
Progress Monitoring:
  • Monitor and assess the progress of participants in the fatherhood program.
  • Collect feedback and data to evaluate the effectiveness of the program.
Advocacy:
  • Advocate for the importance of involved fatherhood within the community.
  • Collaborate with organizations and agencies to promote awareness and support for fathers.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in program facilitation, counseling, or education, with a focus on fathers.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Empathy and understanding of the unique challenges faced by fathers.
Requirements:
  • Passion for promoting positive fatherhood and strengthening family relationships.
  • Ability to create a supportive and non-judgmental environment for participants.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the diverse needs of fathers within the program.
