Job Description
The job of the After-School Program Van Driver is done for the purpose of transporting students over scheduled routes and to/from special excursions while ensuring safety of students during transport, loading, and unloading from buses.
- Transporting students from school to the King Center Afterschool program.
- Providing pick-up in designated areas.
- Transporting students on field trips coordinated by the Afterschool Program Manager.
- Adheres to established routes, designated stops and assigned time schedule.
- Obeys all traffic laws and observes safety regulations.
- Be prepared to work as part of a team, and be willing to communicate problems to the afterschool program manager.
- Escorts children for the purpose of ensuring the safety and welfare of students.
- Conducts a safety inspection of the vehicle prior to every trip.
- Arrives to work as scheduled prepared to safely perform duties.
- Act as a role-model to the students attending our program and therefore must follow all student rules.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
- Holds and maintains a current and valid Class D driver's license.
- Has demonstrated a minimum of three years of driving experience and possesses excellent driving record.
