IDD Resource and Care Coordinator Position Summary The IDD Day Service Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing day service programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This role ensures services are person-centered, goal-oriented, and compliant with all regulatory standards while promoting independence, community integration, and quality of life. Key Responsibilities Program Coordination & Oversight Develop, schedule, and coordinate daily programming and activities for participants Ensure services align with each individual's Person-Centered Plan (PCP) and goals Monitor program quality and participant engagement Adapt activities to meet varying support needs and abilities Participant Support Build positive, supportive relationships with individuals served Ensure a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment Assist with behavior support strategies as needed Monitor progress and document outcomes related to individual goals Staff Support & Collaboration Provide guidance and direction to Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) Assist with staff scheduling and coverage for day services Support onboarding and ongoing training of staff Promote teamwork and consistent service delivery Compliance & Documentation Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including attendance, progress notes, and incident reports Ensure compliance with state regulations, licensing requirements, and CareTech policies Participate in audits, inspections, and quality assurance processes Community Engagement Coordinate community-based activities and outings Build partnerships with local organizations and resources in Emporia Encourage community inclusion and social development for participants Qualifications Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) preferred Previous experience in human services or a related field is a plus Skills & Competencies Strong organizational and time management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing needs Knowledge of person-centered planning and IDD best practices (preferred) Basic computer skills (documentation systems, Microsoft Office, etc.) Certifications & Requirements Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Ability to pass background checks and required screenings CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Working Conditions Combination of office, facility, and community-based environments May require lifting, standing, and assisting individuals with mobility Schedule may include daytime hours with occasional flexibility What Success Looks Like in This Role Participants are actively engaged and progressing toward personal goals Staff feel supported, informed, and aligned Programs run smoothly, safely, and in compliance Strong connections with the Emporia community are established
