Position summary The Program and Grants Coordinator manages CKCF's grantmaking and nonprofit programs and builds CKCFs knowledge of, and impact in, the regional nonprofit sector. The role turns grant dollars into demonstrated community impact — running clear, well-documented grant processes, getting out into the community to understand nonprofit needs, and measuring and telling the story of what CKCF's giving accomplishes. The successful candidate is organized and detail-oriented, comfortable with data and reporting, and leading projects. The role also helps design the programs and processes that turn donor intent and community needs into action — often building a solution from scratch where one doesn't yet exist. Key responsibilities Grantmaking Manage the full grant cycle — application, review, award, agreements, payments, and follow-up — across CKCF's grant programs. Conduct nonprofit site visits to understand organizational needs, capacity, and impact, building CKCF's working knowledge of the sector in each community. Help shift the Foundation's focus from grants awarded to grants' impact , in partnership with the CEO and board. Impact measurement and reporting Build and maintain a grants dashboard for real-time tracking and data visualization of grantmaking activity. Develop and run a consistent follow-up and impact-reporting process for all grants made. Gather impact stories and outcomes data for board meetings, newsletters, and social media in partnership with Communications. Nonprofit sector support and partnerships Support nonprofit capacity-building efforts, including technical assistance and shared resources. Help develop nonprofit-facing tools such as a regional nonprofit directory or online resource hub. Support partnerships and funder collaborations that expand CKCF's total grantmaking impact. Program design and innovation Design and build new programs, funds, and grantmaking approaches that translate donors' charitable goals and emerging community needs into workable structures — including creating a process where none yet exists. Continuously improve grant and program workflows; pilot new approaches and refine them based on results. Research promising models from peer foundations and adapt them to CKCF and the region. Foundation-wide Maintain accurate program records and data in CKCF's systems. Represent CKCF at community and nonprofit events across the region. Contribute to a culture of intentional, impact-focused, personalized service. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 2+ years in nonprofit, grants, program coordination, education, social services, or a related field. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple cycles and deadlines. Comfort working with data — tracking, reporting, and basic data visualization. Strong written communication skills; ability to summarize outcomes clearly. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the region. A commitment to the mission and values of Central Kentucky Community Foundation. Preferred Experience administering grants or scholarships. Familiarity with grants-management or dashboard/data-visualization software. Knowledge of the regional nonprofit sector and/or workforce-development landscape. Resourceful and entrepreneurial — comfortable creating structure and process where none exists, and turning an idea or a donor's wish into a working program. Experience with a community foundation or grantmaking organization. Competencies and attributes Highly organized and process-oriented; reliable with deadlines and documentation. Analytical and curious — interested in what works and how to measure it. Comfortable in the community, listening to and learning from nonprofit partners. Discreet and fair in handling applications and sensitive information. Collaborative team member in a small, high-impact organization. Compensation and benefits Competitive salary commensurate with experience plus CKCF's benefits package. The position reports to the President/CEO. Some time may be required outside the normal office hours to carryout this job.
