Job Description

I. POSITION TITLE
Volunteer and Training Coordinator
II. PROGRAM COMPONENT
: SCP and
FGP III. SUPERVISOR
Senior Director of Community Services
IV. JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the development and daily operations of the Senior Companion (SCP) and Foster Grandparent (FGP) within the guidelines of the Department for Aging and Independent Living, and AmeriCorps Seniors.
V. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide effective organization to carry out the requirements of the SCP and FGP, including the necessary recruitment, employment, training and supervision of program staff, participants, and volunteers. Responsible for the proper implementation of Federal and State regulations. Establish and maintain working relationships with agencies that have functions or programs that might be relevant to SCP and FGP Assures proper program implementation consistent with goals, objectives, and sound fiscal and administrative management procedures. Plan and supervise special events in recognition of the services provided by the Senior Companion and Foster Grandparent Volunteers. Provides technical assistance and support to staff when needed. Plan and supervise annual recertification. Assures that all Program data is entered in a timely manner into the appropriate Database. Attend conferences, meetings and workshops that have relevance to the field of Aging.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Gerontology, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 - 4 years of experience in Aging Services, Program Management, or a related field.
Skills:
Strategic planning, grant writing, and budget management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Personal Attributes:
Compassionate, organized, detail-oriented, and dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals in their mature years.
