Job Description

Operation UNITE (Unlawful Narcotics Investigations, Treatment, and Education Inc.) is seeking team members for our On the Move! Mobile Classroom Prevention program. The "On The Move!" program, as a whole, is designed to educate children about the dangers of making poor choices from using alcohol or other drugs. It provides them hands-on experiences for visual impairment, the brain's reaction when impaired, and the physical reaction of the body to impairment. The combination of these elements makes the "On The Move!" initiative unique.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential:
1. Demonstrates competence, knowledge, and skill related to alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs (ATOD). 2. Ability to identify services that build capacities of individuals and systems to promote healthy environments, lifestyles, and behaviors. 3. Demonstrates knowledge and ability to educate communities regarding substance use disorders as a disease, helping reduce stigma. 4. Maintains strong communication and relationship-building skills. 5. Conducts surveys of coalitions and organizations providing prevention services focused on substance use and related consequences. 6. Conducts surveys assessing technical assistance needs of coalitions and other prevention partners. 7. Supports the implementation of network analysis at the community level to identify key stakeholders for substance use prevention and related initiatives. 8. Ability to travel to required school sites throughout UNITE's entire service region and statewide as needed. 9. Provides technical assistance to the Youth Activities Manager and other partners on best practices in collaboration and sustainability. 10. Assists in developing and implementing region-wide strategies that promote community collaboration. 11. Responsible for regular, frequent travel—including statewide travel—to accomplish duties. 12. Participates in meetings, EEP team functions, and UNITE events as required. 13. Ability to stay overnight as needed depending on program scheduling or distance. 14. Facilitates the "On the Move!" impaired driving course. 15. Ability to lift/move program equipment and assist with setup and teardown. 16. When not conducting On the Move! programming, may assist in delivering in‑school prevention presentations. 17. Assists the Youth Activities Manager with building maintenance tasks at UNITE offices. 18. Participates in UNITE youth and adult programming. 19. Dedicates time to understand the laws and implications of Driving Under the Influence as listed in Kentucky State Law Statutes. 20. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Training and Experience:
Associates Degree required.
Knowledge:
1. Knowledge of UNITE programs and EEP structure. 2. Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and regulations. 3. Knowledge of office practices, business English, spelling, grammar, and math. 4. Knowledge of office equipment and computer software.
Skills:
1. Strong oral, written, and verbal communication skills. 2. Interpersonal skills. 3. Ability to direct others as required. 4. Computer skills including documentation, spreadsheets, and databases. 5. Strong time‑management and self‑management.
Abilities:
1. Ability to multitask from any location. 2. Ability to travel statewide as needed, including overnight. 3. Leadership abilities. 4. Ability to use discretion in handling confidential matters. 5. Ability to prepare timely records and reports. 6. Ability to maintain effective working relationships.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS 1.
Work may be spot‑checked. 2. Duties require judgment for which no precedent exists. 3. Physical demands include standing, walking, stooping, lifting >25 lbs, and operating a vehicle. 4. Uses standard office equipment. 5. Requires tact and diplomacy with public and internal contacts. 6. Ongoing use of confidential information. 7. Must maintain a valid driver's license. 8. Required to travel regularly within the service area and statewide. 9. Exempt position.

$36,000.00 - $38,000.00 per year
