This is a part-time, non-benefited, non-unit position, not to exceed 18.5 hours per week. SALARY:
$36.55/hr STATEMENT OF DUTIES
As required by 105 CMR 170.946-170.950, Bristol Community College seeks a Massachusetts certified Instructor/Coordinator (I/C) with strong EMS education and paramedic leadership experience to serve as the Special Programs Coordinator for EMS Programs. This position performs administrative work and project coordination for Bristol's EMS programs. It is responsible for Administering program operations and work activities, assisting with budget preparation and grant administration, preparing/processing documentation, providing/distributing information, coordinating events/activities and managing records. It also coordinates assigned staff and performs related work as directed. The successful candidate will serve as the Massachusetts OEMS-approved Instructor/Coordinator for Bristol's EMS programming and will support aspects of planning, compliance, accreditation readiness, curriculum support, clinical partnerships, and launch in accordance with Massachusetts OEMS, CoAEMSP/CAAHEP, and national EMS education standards. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Coordination and Administration Coordinate and oversee EMS education programs, special projects, and related activities within the School of STEM-E. Serve as the Massachusetts OEMS-approved Lead Instructor/Coordinator (I/C) for College EMS training programs. Coordinate operations, schedules, work activities, and instructional resources to support program goals and regulatory compliance. Organize, implement, and monitor program activities, timelines, deliverables, and outcomes. Support strategic planning, program evaluation, continuous quality improvement initiatives, and accreditation readiness activities. Assist with budget planning, grant administration, resource allocation, and procurement activities related to EMS programs. Monitor program effectiveness and recommend improvements based on assessment data and stakeholder feedback. Paramedic Certificate Development Coordinate the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of a new Paramedic Certificate Program. Conduct needs assessments, feasibility studies, and workforce research to support program development. Provide curriculum support related to program structure, course sequencing, instructional content, and student learning outcomes. Coordinate development of policies, procedures, student handbooks, operational documents, and program materials. Manage project timelines and implementation plans to ensure successful program launch. Regulatory Compliance & Accreditation Manage activities required to obtain and maintain Massachusetts OEMS approval and compliance. Prepare, compile, process, and submit documentation required for regulatory approvals and accreditation. Administer CoAEMSP/CAAHEP accreditation activities, including applications, reporting, and site visit preparation. Maintain knowledge of applicable federal, state, local, accreditation, and College regulations, policies, and standards. Clinical & Field Partnerships Develop and maintain partnerships with clinical, public safety, and community partners to support program goals.. Coordinate clinical education, field internships, capstone experiences, and student placements. Assist with preceptor recruitment, on-boarding, training, and evaluation processes. Support student recruitment, community outreach, information sessions, and promotional activities. Serve as a liaison between the College and external partners to coordinate activities, exchange information, and resolve issues. Administrative and Project Support Compile and monitor data related to enrollment, student outcomes, accreditation, and program effectiveness. Maintain and analyze program data including enrollment, student outcomes, and accreditation requirements. Track and maintain data on enrollment, outcomes, and program performance. Organize, maintain, and manage program records in accordance with College, grant, accreditation, and regulatory requirements. Utilize word processing, spreadsheet, database, instructional, and other software applications to support program operations. Maintain current information regarding EMS education requirements, accreditation standards, and industry best practices. Monitor inventory and coordinate acquisition of instructional equipment, simulation resources, laboratory supplies, and technology. Staff Coordination Coordinate assigned adjunct faculty, clinical preceptors, support personnel, interns, volunteers, and student workers. Assist with recruitment, on-boarding, orientation, training, scheduling, and evaluation activities. Prioritize, assign, review, and coordinate work activities to support program objectives. Facilitate meetings, training sessions, and communication among program personnel and stakeholders. Professional Development and Collaboration Attend meetings, workshops, conferences, committees, and professional development activities related to assigned responsibilities. Maintain current knowledge of EMS education, accreditation standards, healthcare workforce trends, and applicable regulations. Collaborate across academic, employer, and community partnerships to support program success. Key deliverables Ongoing administration and coordination of EMS training programs. Completion of feasibility studies and program development recommendations. Support materials for curriculum development and implementation. Massachusetts OEMS approval documentation. CoAEMSP/CAAHEP accreditation eligibility and application materials. Clinical and field affiliation agreements. Program policies, procedures, and operational documentation. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
NOTE:
Unless otherwise noted, all required qualifications must be met by date of hire. Current Massachusetts and National Registry Paramedic certification in good standing Current Massachusetts Instructor/Coordinator (I/C) credential Current American Heart Association BLS/CPR Instructor Certification Current American Heart Association ACLS Provider certification Experience teaching in EMS Basic and/or paramedic education programs Experience developing, launching, or significantly revising a paramedic program Experience with Massachusetts/National EMS program administration, coordination, or leadership Knowledge of Massachusetts OEMS regulations and inspection/licensure processes Experience with CoAEMSP/CAAHEP accreditation processes PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with curriculum development and educational planning Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills Prior experience serving as an EMS Program Director or Lead Instructor/Coordinator Prior experience with clinical affiliation agreements and partnership development Experience with simulation-based EMS education Additional Information:
