Job Description

Coordinates and administers programs, activities, outreach, and services for older adults and the broader community through the Foxborough Community Center and Council on Aging (COA)/Human Services Department.

Prepares advertising materials for COA and Human Services activities, including newspapers, local cable station, social media, newsletters, and town website. Plans programs to meet participant needs; maintains records of activities and participation; receives payments, processes payments and invoices, processes payroll as needed. Coordinates and develops a variety of activities; coordinates schedules. Coordinates trips with participants and travel agents. Provides assistance and information to senior citizens and the public. Performs similar or related work as required, directed, or situation dictates. High school diploma required; experience working with older adults and individuals with varying abilities preferred; two to three years of customer service and office experience; three or more years of experience planning programs and activities; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. First Aid, CPR, AED, and ServSafe certification required or ability to obtain within six months of hire. Works under the general direction of the Director of Human Services, in accordance with department policies and procedures; duties require initiative and judgment to respond to individual situations. Work is performed in a busy public setting at the Foxborough Community Center. The employee operates standard office equipment and has frequent interaction with program participants, community members, service providers, businesses, media outlets, and travel vendors. The position may require occasional evening, weekend, or off-site programming responsibilities. The employee may have access to confidential or sensitive participant information and is expected to exercise appropriate discretion in handling such information. Errors in work could result in delays or disruptions in services, financial discrepancies, or inconvenience to participants and the public. Moderate physical effort is required to perform some duties; required to stand, walk, speak and hear, and use hands to operate equipment; may be required to carry equipment weighing up to thirty (30) pounds. Vision requirements include the ability to read documents and use a computer.
