Job Description

YWCA Malden is an innovative community-based organization with a mission of Empowering Women and Eliminating Racism. The organization's unique programs are targeted to underserved low-income women, girls, and families of color in the urban community of Malden, Massachusetts.
Position Description and Responsibilities Qualifications:
Experience working with teens or young adults in youth development, education, career exploration, or workforce development is preferred. The successful candidate must be organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and able to independently manage a small workforce development program while meeting deadlines and grant requirements. Strong communication, computer, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required. Cultural responsiveness and the ability to work effectively with teens from diverse backgrounds are essential. WIOA or youth workforce experience is preferred. A degree or relevant coursework in education, adolescent development, human services, workforce development, or a related field is preferred.
WIOA Program Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage WorkSmart, YWCA Malden's WIOA-funded In-School Workforce Development Program for eligible high school students.
  • Recruit, enroll, and retain eligible participants and ensure all required program components are completed.
  • Meet individually with participants to assess educational, career, employment, and supportive service needs and establish goals.
  • Plan and coordinate career exploration, educational activities, leadership development, job shadowing, internships, and paid and unpaid work experiences for high school students enrolled in WIOA Youth program.
  • Maintain accurate participant records and timely data entry in MOSES, (Massachusetts One-Stop Employment System), ShareFile, and other required systems.
  • Monitor participant progress and ensure program goals, grant requirements, and performance expectations are met.
  • Manage and track program expenditures and ensure costs are allowable under the approved grant budget.
  • Meet regularly with the Program/Executive Director and the funder to review progress, program performance, address challenges, and ensure successful program implementation.
  • Complete required WIOA documentation, reporting, and compliance activities requested during the program year and during annual monitoring.
Teen Program & Team Responsibilities:
  • Be an active and collaborative member of the YWCA Malden team and participate in teen activities, programs, workshops, and special events.
  • Provide guidance and support to teens and contribute to a positive, inclusive program environment.
  • Work cooperatively with staff and community partners and support the overall mission and goals of the YWCA Malden.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Pay:
$26.00 per hour Expected hours: 25.0 per week
