FAMILY SELF SUFFICIENCY COORDINATOR AND HOMEOWNERSHIP COORDINATOR
The FSS Coordinator is a HUD grant funded professional position. These services offer opportunities for subsidized housing participants to increase their housing and financial stability. The successful candidate must be able to complete and obtain a Family Self Sufficiency certification within one year of hire.
Responsibilities:
  • Recruit Section 8 Voucher holders for the FSS program.
  • Perform individual and family needs assessments to set goals and determine potential obstacles in achieving self-sufficiency.
  • Develop custom-tailored policies for the
FSS ACTION
PLAN, for Hud's approval.
  • Plan and coordinate activities for FSS program participants such as training programs, GED classes, budgeting classes, college classes, and home buyer training.
  • Refer FSS participants to appropriate Social Service agencies, as necessary.
  • Create and maintain case files for each FSS program participants.
  • Develop and submit required program FSS reports.
  • Cross train RHA FSS position as instructed by the Executive Director.
  • Calculate escrow account and balance bank statement monthly.
Home Ownership Program:
  • Knowledge of operations and procedures of the Section 8 Homeownership Program. Must be able to complete and pass Housing counselor training course within one year of hire.
  • Considerable knowledge of other community agencies and groups that can assist RHA and help provide for the health and welfare of the participants.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and credit repair.
The candidate must be able to prepare concise reports both written and oral and be computer literate. English/Spanish bilingual skills are helpful but not required. Valid driver's license.
