Direct Service Specialist positions available in Shore's Adult Services Program in Woburn.
You will directly work with a warm, interesting, and fun-loving group of individuals with developmental disabilities in an active day services setting. You'll lead and help individuals to participate in activities that center around building life, social, community, and therapeutic skills that meet their personal goals. Individuals have a broad range of abilities and some need staff assistance for dining and personal care activities, others for developing coping and self-expression strategies. Our programs operate during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, with no on-call, night, or weekend obligations. If you're an experienced human service professional, you may find the change, challenge, and teamwork you've been looking for at Shore. We provide plenty of training that will build your skills and confidence, alongside co-workers who are available to assist. Ideal candidates are dependable, like working with people, and have the energy to commit to a meaningful job. High school diploma or equivalent required. Driver's license preferred. Candidates must be able to meet the physical requirements necessary to assist people with physical disabilities in daily living activities and to participate in the training and implementation, if necessary, of behavior support interventions. This position pays $20 to $23, based on experience, and includes paid time off, great benefits, and participation in the Massachusetts State Retirement System's pension plan.
