  • THIS IS A TITLE 5 EXCEPTED NATIONAL GUARD POSITION
  • This position is loced the ANG Wing with/or without geographically separed units (GSU)/ ARNG Region loced in a Ste th is divided into multiple regions (within the Ste) not servicing one specific BDE.
This position serves as the implementer of the Integred Primary Prevention (IPP) Program. Due to the specialty nure of these roles this position reports to the Joint Force Headquarter Primary Prevention Officer. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Primary Prevention Specialist in a developmental capacity, performing assignments designed to further develop applicable analytical and evaluive skills and techniques. This is a developmental position leading to the full performance position description

All training must be completed, and regulory requirements met prior to non-competitive promotion. It collaborively identifies, implements, and assesses public health-informed and evidence-based prevention policy, practices, programs and processes. Supports healthy clime/culture to elimine harassment, sexual violence, family violence and self-directed harm using a public health perspective and socio-ecological theoretical lens. This involves an integred, multi-agency, and collaborive approach with other Wings/Regions, Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ), and local programs with a nexus to integred primary prevention (IPP) efforts. GS-09: 1. Performs developmental assignments of moderely difficult and complex nure consisting of well-precedented tasks designed to orient the employee in the applicion of harm and abuse prevention programs and activities. Assignments are combined with training to develop analytical skills and techniques used to resolve issues or problems of a procedural or factual nure. 2. Performs recurring assignments. Independently performs work assignments which gradually increase in difficulty and complexity. 3. Carries out special projects and participes in special initiives and studies. Performs special assignments in support of the organizion; e.g., researching policy and comparing to new or modified guidelines to assess impact; analyzing and providing substantive evaluion of da affecting program operions; developing reports and briefings outlining study findings and recommendions; preparing and coordining reference papers and documention to support project initiives; presenting reports to a variety of audiences; and performing analysis and providing recommendions to resolve issues. 4. Prepares written correspondence and other documention. Drafts or prepares a variety of documents to include newsletter items, responses to routine inquiries, reports, letters, and other reled documents. GS-11: 1. Serves as the point of contact for harm and abuse prevention programs and activities; provides program coordinion and serves as the subject mter expert for the Wing/Region IPP program. Serves as the Primary Prevention Integror (PPI) managing all aspects of a complex integred primary prevention program (P3) for the Wing/Region. Serves as the Wing/Region point of contact for the suicide prevention program, workplace and domestic violence programs in a non-clinical primary prevention, here after referred to as prevention, role in coordinion with applicable offices and community agencies. 2. Supports inter
  • and intra-personal violence prevention efforts and programming through the Wing/regional leadership advisory committees, boards and working groups.
Represents their populion's integred prevention efforts as a member of leadership advisory committees, boards and working groups. 3. Serves as the Wing/Region liaison for local military and civilian agencies to promote timely informion exchange, coordine collaborive prevention efforts, and establish resource links and community partnerships. Incorpores comprehensive stregies to enhance community strengths, address broad-based community needs, suggest community problem solving methods, and forge community connections. Establishes networking, advocacy, and collaborion processes through which to promote IPP to the community. 4. Responsible for developing and overseeing healthy clime, resiliency, risk reduction activities, trainings, and communicion campaigns within the Wing/Region. Advises Wing/Region commanders in communicing prevention plans and programs to subordine units. 5. Recruits, trains, and facilites military volunteers for prevention activity implemention. Provides technical oversight to service members (DSG/M-Day) within the Wing/Region who are assigned to perform integred prevention activities the Unit level.
