This position coordinates a peer-led model of grief support where connection, shared experience, and community create a powerful path toward healing. This position is the point of contact for Family Fridays, Teen Group, and School-Based Grief Support programming. This role also supports the coordination of New Hope Center for Grief Support's annual summer Kids' Camp.
Responsibilities:
Using an evidence-based curriculum, creates, prepares, and executes lesson plans and agendas for New Hope Center for Grief Support's child, teen, and family peer-led groups. Serves as the point of contact for school partners. Assists with the "Train the Trainer" program for school staff. Facilitates all school-based grief support groups and teen groups. Coordinates with the Grief Care & Volunteer Manager to recruit programming volunteers. Trains and schedules the volunteers needed for child, teen, and family peer-led group programming. Collects and maintains program and evaluation data to maintain accurate and timely records and reports, including attendance, permission forms, surveys, and other program data. Assists with the coordination and production of the annual summer Kids' Camp. Participates in professional development opportunities centered on grief education. Supports other related responsibilities as needed to support the success of the organization's mission.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in social work preferred. Minimum of a bachelor's degree in education, child development, social work, psychology, or health and human services required. Highly organized, strong work ethic, self-starter, and enjoys working with children, teens, and families. Demonstrates strong written and oral communication skills. 1-3 years of experience working with children, teens, and families. Experience leading volunteers preferred. Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, as necessary. Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel a 25+ mile radius from the main office, if necessary. Competency with daily use of software and data entry, including Microsoft Office applications. Able to meet all requirements necessary to pass relevant government background checks.
