ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Manages the activities of assigned youth activities program. Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y, contributing to member retention. Monitors daily operations to adhere to all YMCA operating, health and safety standards and policies. Oversees youth activity team members. Ensures high quality programs and establishes new program activities. Encourages healthy lifestyle for youth through mentoring and coaching. Ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures followed. Maintains the physical environment and assigned program equipment. Responds to all agency, parent and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner. Maintains proper records/department files. Implements curriculum within the established guidelines. Oversees and implements daily sports lesson/activity plans. Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of participants. Maintains positive relationships and effective communication with parents. Engages parents as volunteers. Attends and participates in program activities, staff meetings, and staff training. Qualifications/Responsibilities At least 18 years of age. Have a valid driver's license. Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred. Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities. Previous experience with diverse populations. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
