Determine the Cultural Arts needs of the School District and the community and plan programs accordingly. Coordinate Cultural Arts schedules with Saline Area Schools programs and community programs. Recruit, hire, supervise, train, and evaluate appropriate individuals to work or volunteer in the program. Evaluate Cultural Arts programs to improve programs and implement new ideas. Work with the Community Education Director to develop and monitor the annual budget. Maintain discipline and safety programs for all facility users. Determine supplies and equipment needed and authorize regular program expenditures. Establish a rapport with community groups and organizations to coordinate proper programming/rentals. Serve as "goodwill" ambassador to the public for the Community Education Department and Saline Area Schools. Perform other tasks and duties related to the Cultural Arts facilities/programs as assigned or appropriate. Responsible for regular maintenance and determination of upgrade needs for (3) district theater spaces. Recruitment and training of student theatre technicians and adult staff. Club Advisor for "Hornet Light and Sound", HS Technical Theatre Club. Develop and oversee Community Education Youth Theater Programs. Required Education/Certification Bachelor Degree in Arts Management or Technical Theatre/Theatre Production. 3-5 years Cultural Arts Management experience or related field. Successful experience working in auditorium facility management. Good organization skills. Good communication skills. Self-motivated, dynamic, flexible. Ability to relate well to and work with both youth and adults. Willingness to work flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours. Preferred Education/Certification Bachelor's Degree in Arts Management or a related field. Required Experience 3-5 years Cultural Arts Management experience. Preferred Experience 5-7 years Cultural Arts Management experience.ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Use computer network systems and software applications as needed. Organize and coordinate work. Develop and implement projects. Effective and respectful verbal and written communication skills. Communicate effectively with students and parents. Organize multiple tasks and conflicting time constraints. Engage in self-evaluation with regard to leadership, performance and professional growth. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work. Demonstrate exemplary attendance and punctuality. Basic knowledge of light and sound board operation/stage management practices and safety protocols. Ability to creatively problem solve in high pressure/time sensitive performance settings. Ability to successfully work with and mentor high school and college aged students.
