Job Description
Are you looking for meaningful work that helps older adults remain healthy, independent, and connected to their communities? Three Rivers Community Action is seeking a compassionate and organized Older Adult Services Specialist to support Meals on Wheels and Age Well Connections programs in Wabasha and surrounding communities. This position combines participant support, volunteer coordination, community outreach, and billing administration to ensure older adults receive the services and resources they need to thrive. About the Role As an Older Adult Services Specialist, you'll work directly with older adults and caregivers, helping them access nutrition services, community resources, and benefits that support successful aging. You'll complete participant assessments, coordinate volunteers, maintain program records, assist with private-pay meal billing, and serve as a community resource for older adults and their families. This is a full-time position (30 hours per week) based in Wabasha with regular travel throughout the service area. Schedule is Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm. What You'll Do Complete assessments for Meals on Wheels and Age Well Connections participants Connect older adults with community resources, benefits, and supportive services Maintain accurate participant records and program documentation Coordinate, recruit, train, and support meal delivery volunteers Assist with participant billing, payment tracking, and private-pay meal services Maintain communication with meal vendors and community partners Conduct outreach activities and represent Three Rivers at community events Support evidence-based classes and wellness initiatives for older adults Collaborate with agency staff and community organizations to strengthen services for aging adults Help ensure program compliance, quality standards, and exceptional participant service throughout all aspects of the program What We're Looking For We're seeking someone who is: Passionate about serving older adults and strengthening communities Organized and detail-oriented with strong follow-through Comfortable balancing participant-facing work with administrative responsibilities Skilled at building relationships with participants, volunteers, and community partners An effective communicator who can navigate a variety of situations with professionalism and empathy Able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment Proficient with Microsoft Office and electronic recordkeeping systems Willing and able to travel throughout the service area using a personal vehicle Preferred qualifications include an associate degree in a Human Services-related field or related experience working with older adults, community services, healthcare, or human services programs.
