Program Staff (Youth Development Professional)
DEPARTMENT

Unit Director Exempt Non-Exempt
PRIMARY FUNCTION
Responsible for overseeing the delivery of a broad range of programs within the scope of YouthDevelopment, such as Character and Leadership development, Education and Career development, Health and Life Skills, the Arts, and Sports/Fitness and Recreation. Assist in planning, developing, overseeing implementation, and supervise programs.
KEY ROLES
(Essential Job Responsibilities): I. Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of youth development outcomes. a. Participate in program orientation/staff training process b. Promote and stimulate program participation, implement/assist in various enrichment programs c. Implement self-esteem and variety of learning activities d. Provide positive role modeling II. Program Development and Implementation a. Effectively implement and administer programs, services and activities b. Monitor and evaluate programs, services and activities to ensure safety of members in programs and appearance of site at all times c. Prepare program sheet reports, and other required documents for assessment d. Work closely with Unit Director, Staff and parents to ensure successful program deliveryIII. Supervision a. Ensure all youth are properly supervised and encouraged to participate in activities b. RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Work with staff, parents and volunteers, for special events to carry out programs in all areas, including fundraising 2. Exercise his/her authority in problem solving relating to members; utilizes guidance and discipline plan 3. Assume all other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
Physical requirements include some physical exertion such as lifting (up to 40 lbs.), stretching and bending in a Club setting as well as standing for long periods of time. The work environment is in a club environment and includes interaction with children ages 6-18 and can be noisy at times.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
2-year degree from an accredited college or university preferred 1-3 years working with youth or equivalent experience. Ability to motivate Club members Organizational skills and attention to detail Computer skills Presentation skills Ability to engage members, families and staff Task oriented and task completion Able to work with limited supervision and direction
