Job Description

Job Summary:
The Program Coordinator will plan, coordinate and administer activities within the Family Medicine Residency Program to include developing, implementing, and supervising related procedures, processes, services and systems; train staff and residents in proper methods and procedures and ensure correctness of work to be in compliance with the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). Self-educates in national, institutional and program requirements which inform policy/procedure development set forth by the ACGME. Continuously ensures new or revised Family Medicine Program Requirements are integrated into the training program. Educates and manages residents on accreditation, institutional, and/or department policies and procedures Collaborates in management, interpretation, and analysis, and makes recommendations of certain aspects of the residency program and implements changes approved by program leadership. Prepares, coordinates, and monitors residency related administrative activities through the application of broad Graduate Medical Education (GME) knowledge, practices and principles in conjunction with, or occasionally on behalf of, the Program Director. The job requires the promotion and adherence to the organization's established Corporate Compliance Program and Standards of Conduct, and requires excellent communication skills and willingness to work as a team. Applicants must possess a strong ability to build and maintain relationships and work well with others to support the mission of the hospital. They must have excellent presentation skills via various forums such as in-services, letters, email, town halls, memorandums, and hospital events. This position must be able to represent the department to business partners and other stakeholders as well as the community at-large. Collaborates with others to resolve problems and proactively improve processes. The Coordinator will also need to demonstrate the knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the patients, families, and visitors of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs.
