Job Description

CVAN is a feminist Domestic Violence program in Concord, NC Direct services include: 24-hour Hotline; Shelter; supportive counseling; court advocacy; support group; children's program; teen program; and women's jail program.
Hours:
Tuesday - Saturday; Full-Time 40 hours; a variety of shifts
Duties:
Work directly with battered women and their children in our Shelter; on the 24-hour Hotline and at the Outreach Center. After experience on the job, Domestic Violence Advocates also have the opportunity to train in additional CVAN services such as support group; court program; teen program; jail program; and community education. Interacting with the public.
Qualifications:
Ability to perform all duties as listed. Ability to work a flexible schedule. Hardworking; honest; reliable; friendly; and respectful; calm in crisis, work under pressure; work with diverse groups Must be able to bend, stoop, and do medium lifting and carrying; and be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, fingering, grasping, talking and hearing. Must be able to independently operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid Driver's License. Must have reliable transportation. Experience in working with battered women not required. CVAN provides intensive on the job training.
