Immediately Job Description General Definition of Work The person performs a variety of tasks to support the programmatic success of STEM education.
This includes the following activities:
coordinate STEM professional developments; attends professional learning communities with staff to engage in STEM integration practices; plans shared experiences for all STEM staff, students, and community members; supports with Program Choice student assignment process; coordinates Program Choice marketing materials and community communication; supports with STEM certification and reauthorization; supporst with the STEM Advisory Board; coordinates internship activitiess; and coordinates grant programs and applications. Salary NC Teaching Salary Schedule Reports to Chief Academic Officer & Site Based Administration Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Education NC Teacher Licensure in Math or Science Essential Functions Supports withthe programmatic review process to continue to evaluate the return on investment around the STEM programming and resource allocations. Collaborates with classroom teachers, counselors, principals, and other stakeholders to implement the STEM education. Serves as a member of the district's instructional leadership team and collaborates with members of that team to provide a comprehensive approach to implementing curriculum, instruction, assessment and organizational goals of the school and district. Provides presentations and workshops to small and large groups of teachers to accelerate the use of exemplary instructional practices and improve student achievement around STEM education. Reviews, recommends, and/or develops support materials to enhance learning and achievement. Coaches, co-teachers, and models best practices in STEM education to provide a continuous cycle of feedback and support around STEM practices. Monitors student success in programs using observations, surveys, benchmark tests, standardized test results, progress reports, attendance data, and discipline data. Prepares an annual report on student academic and social outcomes for assigned schools. Supports in the development of STEM promotional materials and educational sessions and shares this information with staff, students, families, and community members. Works closely with the Student Assignment Office on application process development and implementation. Works closely with the Student Assignment Office to develop and maintain student data bases for enrollment. Completes all reports, memos, documentation and other necessary paperwork in a timely and professional manner. Monitors program and grant budget. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Comprehensive knowledge of best practices in instructional coaching. Comprehensive knowledge of school administration principles, practices and procedures. Comprehensive knowledge of school choice and career services programs. Ability to develop and present ideas effectively both orally and in written form. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with school officials, school administrators, parents, associates, and the general public. Physical Requirements This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force. Work regularly requires speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel and repetitive motions, frequently requires sitting and occasionally requires standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling and lifting. Work has standard vision requirements. Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels. Work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operating machines, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities. Work occasionally requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
