• 30 Division Brief Summary of Work for this Position Description of Work Development of goals, objectives, policies, and processes for the VITALS program.

Conduct needs assessments, plan program development, and evaluate program effectiveness. Actively recruits and retains students to the VITALS program for the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) Office of Admissions. Develop strong working relationships with UNCW faculty, New Hanover County local healthcare employers, and Novant Health. Develop nursing and allied health competent programs that meet the needs of participants while forming connections to the local community. Participate in developing, administrating, and overseeing the program budget; monitors program expenditures to ensure compliance with university and grant funding requirements. Develop and standardize procedures and methods to improve and continuously monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of VITALS. Complete all grant-required reporting and assessment. Other duties as assigned related to VITALS. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment, or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to organize and present information to support guidance, counseling, students, and new professionals. Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated experience working with a diverse student population. Experience working with community partners. Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience Master's degree in education, social work, psychology, nursing, workforce development, conflict management & resolution, public health, or another related field. Three or more years of professional experience planning and implementing programming and workshops for college students or adult learners. Minimum of two years in areas of fiscal management, program development, career and professional development of others, and evaluation. Experience working with early career healthcare professionals or college students. In partnership with Novant Health and local education and community partners, VITALS provides intentional recruitment, academic preparation, coaching, scholarship support, and career readiness experiences for students pursuing nursing and healthcare careers. The purpose of VITALS is to build sustainable pathways into nursing education, support student persistence through key transition points, and retain local talent within Southeastern North Carolina's healthcare systems after graduation.
