04/28/2026 Under the close supervision of the Office of Recovery Program Manager or other supervisory official, Social Service Technician performs paraprofessional social service functions in support of the Intoxicated Drivers Resource Center (IDRC) and the Office of Recovery. The position provides case management support, gathers and documents client information, assists with service coordination, and supports program operations. Examples of work include, but are not limited to, the following: Provides case management support to clients of the Intoxicated Drivers Resource Center (IDRC) in accordance with established policies and procedures. Performs accurate and timely data entry related to IDRC and Office of Recovery activities using required electronic and/or manual information systems. Delivers educational lectures, presentations, and program-related information sessions at the IDRC. Responds to routine phone and email inquiries for the Office of Recovery and IDRC. Provides case management support services to participants of the Office of Recovery. Conducts preliminary and intake interviews to gather and document substance use histories and other required client information for program purposes. Assists professional or supervisory staff in the development and implementation of preliminary treatment and rehabilitation plans. Participates in diagnostic reviews as assigned and under supervision. Prepares, maintains, and submits required reports, records, and documentation in accordance with program, agency, and regulatory requirements. Investigates and verifies client information to support service coordination and treatment planning activities for IDRC and Office of Recovery services. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with community agencies, providers, and partner organizations; consults with agencies to coordinate services and follow-up activities for clients. Refers clients to appropriate community agencies and resources for additional services as directed. Interprets and applies policies, procedures, regulations, standards, and program objectives governing substance use disorder services and IDRC operations for clients and stakeholders. Conducts surveys, studies, and program-related reviews and documents findings as assigned. Plans and facilitates group discussions and educational sessions on a variety of behavioral health-related topics. Maintains current knowledge of best practices in substance use disorder services and applicable laws and regulations related to driving while intoxicated (DWI). Participates in the development and implementation of educational and service programs for the Office of Recovery and IDRC. Prepares routine correspondence and maintains organized records and files. Utilizes electronic and/or manual data systems and information-tracking tools required by the agency.
Requirements:
Education:
Possession of a high school diploma or a GED. A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Human Services or Psychology-related field is preferred.
Experience:
Two (2) years of experience in a social service, health, or community-based agency involving one or more of the following: gathering client information, providing case management or referral services, assisting with service plan implementation, or supporting social service programs.
Note:
Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency preferred (verbal and written).
License:
A driver's license valid in New Jersey may be required if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential job duties.
