The Training Coordinator will:
Ensure healthcare surveyors are trained to meet all state and federal requirements, so that they are able to perform survey functions with quality and consistency; Conduct on-going healthcare surveyor trainings and technical support to all Health Facility Licensing and Certification (HFLC) staff; Collaborate and coordinate the exchange of information with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Healthcare Authority (HCA) and Division leadership to identify training requirements and institutes plans for training of new and existing employees; Support the HFLC team and ensure all employees are working efficiently, competently, and to department standards; Track all required Federal and State annual trainings by maintaining a tracking log, collect certificates, and keep copies of sign-in-sheets and all training material as evidence the training took place. How does it get done? The Training Coordinator is responsible for: Assisting surveyors in creating training accounts, assisting in registering surveyors for federal trainings, tracking required surveyor trainings, developing a training program, and providing resources and continuing surveyor education; Preparing instructional materials and newsletters to be used in training; Keeping current with changes and updates to federal and state policy and procedures; Attending all mandatory training sessions and participate in CMS required teleconferences, and webinars; Researching curriculum actively and remaining up-to-date on developments within CMS and HCA; Creating and maintaining a tracking log of all federal and state training requirements; Updating a tracking log for each employee when a certificate has been issued; Informing employees of required trainings and deadlines to stay current. Who are the customers? Healthcare Surveyors; Nursing Home Providers; New Mexico residents receiving healthcare services. Ideal Candidate Healthcare Surveyors; Nursing Home Providers; New Mexico residents receiving healthcare services. Minimum Qualification Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing, Architecture, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Rehabilitation, and/or Criminal Justice and two (2) years directly related experience in community based healthcare services and case management. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required education and experience. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must obtain a Defensive Driving Certificate. Working Conditions Work is performed primarily in an office setting with phone and extensive computer usage. Occasional in-state travel is required.
